Exhibition Graphics – How To Display Your Business

19th July 2017

We recently talked about how to get your exhibition and display graphics right, but there is more to successful exhibition imagery than just what the graphics themselves look like. You also need to understand how to best use your exhibition graphics once you have them.

There are various elements to the design on your stand, including which types of graphic display systems you use and how they are positioned, which can make a big difference to how enticing your stand looks and how successful it conveys your messaging.

In this blog we will look at the key things to consider to ensure you are using your exhibition graphics effectively to display your business.

Choosing the right display systems

There are many different options for displaying your exhibition graphics and different display systems are appropriate for different situations. It is therefore important you spend some time thinking about which will work best for your needs when planning your exhibition stand.

Portable display systems

Easy to transport and erect, portable display systems allow you to create a visually impressive backdrop to any stand. They have the advantage of giving plenty of space for your graphics, while also being highly portable. This makes them ideal for when you have multiple exhibitions and trade shows to visit and want an impactful display that won’t be too time consuming or fiddly to keep putting up and taking down.

Expand system

Expand systems use modular design to allow you to put several large display panels together to create a big impact. Because the design is modular, you can move the individual panels around, allowing you to fit your display to the event. You can also use fewer or more of the panels depending on how much space you have, giving you flexibility when going to different sized events.

Roller banners

Roll-up/retractable displays are ideal when you don’t have much space to transport your display materials, but still want to be seen in the exhibition space. Roller banner systems allow you to unroll your banner and secure it in place, so you have an attractive, impactful display, which can then simply be rolled back up, packed up and taken away. Ideal when you have limited space for transporting your display materials and are looking for a quick set-up/pack down.

Shell schemes

Shell schemes offer a more substantial display stand for your business, using hard panels to section off an area of the exhibition centre and create a more private feel. This is an ideal choice for events where you have a reasonable amount of time to set-up and want to create a strong impression.

Custom built stands

If you have a very specific idea of what you want to achieve with your exhibition stand, it may be worth having a custom built stand. This can combine any of the systems mentioned above, as well as video displays, projected graphics and more. This can be a good choice if you are attending a larger, more prestigious event and want to make sure you really stand out.

Signage systems

If you are running an exhibition, good signage can make all the difference to the success of the event. As well as helping people to find their way around, it can also help the event to feel more professional, making it more likely people will come again in the future. External signage can also help you to advertise the event and ensure people find their way to the right place when they arrive.

Positioning your displays

How you position your various displays will affect how much of an impact they have. Whether you use your displays to create a more enclose, intimate space or a more open, inviting stand will affect how people perceive and interact with you.

Arranging your displays to create contrast between colours, images and text, and other features will also help make your display more visually appealing. Before heading to your exhibition, it is a good idea to have a “dry run” by setting up your display in your office so you can make sure you know how to position everything for maximum effect when you get there.

Looking after your exhibition display

There is nothing worse than spending a lot of time and money on getting the perfect graphics for your exhibition stand, only to get to the big day and realise that your display materials have been damaged. This can leave you without your full display, or graphics that look scruffy and unprofessional.

It is therefore absolutely vital to make sure you know how to safely pack, transport, unload and erect every part of your stand in advance. You then need to ensure this is communicated effectively to all of your team members involved, so there are no accidents when it counts and your exhibition stand looks its best.
